WHO WE SERVE
YMCA
In 1967, the Mount Clemens Lions Club donated the land on which the YMCA is located on North River Road and we continue to support the “Y” to this day.
SALVATION ARMY
The Lions support the Army through volunteer bell ringing, the Christmas raffle and our annual donation.
FAMILY YOUTH INTERVENTIONS
Families today face unique challenges. The Lions support Family Youth Interventions to help resolve those problems.
MANY MORE
The Mount Clemens Lions also supports several organizations outside the Mount Clemens area. Bear Lake Camp in Lapeer, MI for youth who are physically challenged, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Michigan Eye Bank, Welcome Home for the Blind, Penrickton Center for Blind Children, the Beaumont Silent Children Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research, Hearing and Sight Conservation and the Michigan All-State Band just to name a few.
EYE GLASSES
The Mount Clemens Lions provides an average of 40 pairs of glasses each year to needy residents.
HEARING PROGRAMS
Lions service activities for people who are deaf or have a hearing impairment may include: Hearing loss awareness campaigns, Hearing screenings , Hearing aid recycling program, Recreational camps for the deaf ,and hearing impaired Assistance for the deaf and hearing impaired individuals.
LEADER DOG
Lions have supported Leader Dogs for the Blind, our clients and our canines from the very beginning. For 75 years Lions have contributed financially, identified people in their community who could benefit from Leader Dog’s services, assisted our clients in filling out applications and spread information about our programs throughout their hometowns and Districts.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 4.5 million athletes in 170 countries.
